I don't know about you, but this week was different. Not because it was my birthday there so much to it that made it different, let's talk about it; Started with a bit of a culture clash. Imagine this: I’m hanging out with some new friends from Nigeria, at school and the conversation turns to electricity. They’re amazed that here in Rwanda, we have it pretty much all the time. Turns out, back home, scheduled blackouts are a regular occurrence. It made me realize how much we take certain things for granted.

1. Africa’s Tech Boom: Nigeria Leading the Charge
Ever heard of Silicon Valley? Well, move over because Africa’s tech scene is heating up, and we are late to know about it; Nigeria is at the forefront! I saw a fascinating video on Bloomberg that highlighted Nigeria’s incredible advancements in tech. From innovative startups to a growing pool of tech talent, Nigeria is proving to be a major player in the global tech space. I highly Encourage you to watch the video.
2. Ikigai: Finding Your Reason for Being
This week, I finally finished reading “Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life”. after three consecutive days 😂, This book dived into the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which essentially means finding your purpose in life. It’s a fascinating exploration of what makes a life fulfilling, and I highly recommend checking it out!
3. The Power of Perspective
Meeting people from different backgrounds is always a learning experience. This week’s conversations with my new Nigerian friends were a great reminder of that. Seeing the world through their eyes, even something as simple as electricity access, opened my perspective to the realities faced by others. And the ability for them to cope with reality and regardless advance to even more achievements and growth in life was a constant reminder that there more to life than ups and downs.
